A charity celebrated its 25th birthday last week.

The Froud Centre, in Toronto Avenue, Manor Park, held a fun day for families and residents on Wednesday.

Chief executive Claire Helman said: “It was an amazing experience to celebrate the 25th birthday of the Froud Centre. Many people came to tell us about the stories of how the centre came to be built, and what it has meant to them over the years.”

The centre is part of Aston Mansfield, a charity which has been working with residents in the borough for 130 years.

Claire added: “We had people of all ages, from babies to 93-year-olds. Some have been coming for social activities, keep fit, and children’s activities since we opened; they tell us that they appreciate the warm and friendly welcome atmosphere.
