Firefighters helped to rescue a man who fell into the Royal Victoria Dock in the early hours of the morning.

Crews from three fire stations along with two fire rescue units were called to Western Gateway, Canning Town - close to Royal Victoria DLR station - at around 2.30am yesterday.

They used specialist water rescue equipment to bring the man to safety via dockside steps, and he was then taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
