A man suffered foot injuries after he was crushed in a waste collection truck at Stratford Shopping Centre this morning.

Paramedics from the London Air Ambulance were called just before 10am. He was taken to hospital after being treated at the scene.

It is understood that the young man had earlier fallen asleep in a waste container which was emptied into the truck. The vehicle’s crushing mechanism was dismantled to free him.
