A man is being treated in hospital for head and facial injuries after he was struck by a traffic light in Stratford.
The 33-year-old pedestrian was walking along The Grove just before 10pm on Tuesday when the light fell after it was hit by a lorry opposite Morrisons supermarket.
Three ambulance crews attended the scene and staff treated three people as a result of the accident including the man who was taken to the Major Trauma Centre at The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.
Paramedics attended to another man who was taken to Newham Hospital in Plaistow but has since been discharged with non-life-threatening injuries while a third pedestrian was assessed at the scene.
Newham police closed the road for around four hours.
