Man dies playing football in Newham

A man has died of a heart attack after playing five-a-side football at the Power League pitches in Jenkins Lane on Sunday evening.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8:34pm to reports of a person in cardiac arrest on Jenkins Lane.

“We sent a paramedic in a car, an ambulance crew, a team leader and London’s Air Ambulance to the scene.

“Sadly, despite the extensive efforts of our ambulance crews, a man died at the scene.”
