A man has died in hospital following a house fire in East Ham.
The man, who was rescued by firefighters from the first floor of a house in Nelson Street on March 16, died on Saturday.
Four fire engines from East Ham, Barking and Hainault fire stations and an aerial appliance from Dagenham fire station attended the scene, where another man was also taken to hospital after being helped to safety.
The brigade was called at 5.11pm and firefighters brought the blaze under control by 6.03pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the brigade’s Fire Investigation Unit and the Metropolitan Police.
