Boutique hotel The Penny Brook, would share a building on the corner of Celebration Avenue and Penny Brookes Street, Stratford, with The Adagio, an aparthotel, under the plans.

Developers GL Hearn envision 248-room The Penny Brook to become a destination in itself due to its high end restaurant and lounge on the upper floors which will incorporate impressive views of Queen Elizabeth Park.

The exclusive eateries are expected to be major attractions in themselves and will be open to hotel guests and members only.

A further resturant, open to all, would be situated on the ground floor along with a coffee shop and wine bar.

Other facilities planned include a gym and a conference facility and events space.

Larger rooms will be incorporated in the 137 room aparthotel, which aims to provide more space and comfort for guests staying for an extended period of time.

It will contain a fitness room and restaurant for guests, as well as conference space.

The hotel developers held a drop-in session to gain feedback from the public last month ahead of the submission of a formal planning application to Newham Council in the coming weeks.

Should planning permission be secured, construction is scheduled to begin in the autumn, with the hotels expected to be completed by summer 2018.
