Superheroes, villains and Anime characters all enjoyed the event this weekend.

More than 30,000 fans travelled from across the UK and America for the opportunity to dress up as their favourite character.

Cybermen from Doctor Who, the Joker from Batman, Pikachu from Pokeman and Wonder Woman could all be seen enjoying the two day event.

Autograph sessions and panel discussions offered fans the chance to meet their favourite actors and hear from comic book creators.

A highlight of this year’s show was an extra special on-site Star Wars exhibition.

The display featured 50 pieces of never-previously seen rare original artwork by illustrators Howard Chaykin and Tom Palmer.

The artists themselves were at the event on Saturday to give an insight into what it takes to transform ideas into characters.

Other popular panels included How to break into Marvel Comics and a preview of Sky 1’s new fan centred programme DC FanCast.

The show is the UK’s biggest comic book convention with more than 300 tables of publishers and creators selling comics and memorablia.

A spokewoman for the event said: “London Super Comic Con not only focuses on the fandom of our attendees but also on their enjoyment and experience.

“Comics are a hot topic right now due to super hero movies coming out in Hollywood.

“We cater heavily for those who want to share their love for the medium with like minded people.”
