He’s used to pulling pints, but a Stratford barman is hoping he doesn’t pull any muscles on Sunday when he takes on the London Marathon.

Wesley Green has also been organising events at The Goose to raise even more money for Children with Cancer UK, which aims to find cures and provide care for children with cancer.

The 37-year-old has already hosted a 70s and 80s night at the Broadway pub and has organised a St George’s Day party for Thursday, just three days before the big race.

Wesley, who also ran the London Marathon in 2005, said: “I want the day to come but when it does, I’ll be dreading it.

“Last time, I was in so much pain when I finished. I sat down and couldn’t get back up again – I had to stay there for quite a while.

“Fingers crossed it won’t be as bad this time as I’ve been putting a lot of effort into my training.”
