Pupils and Pearlies got stuck into garden games as the first ray of sun shined down on Newham last week.
Altmore Infant and Junior Schools, both on Altmore Avenue, East Ham, got together with children at neighbouring Lathom Junior School, on Lathom Road, to hold a big summer bash on Friday.
The day was themed to resemble a traditional English tea party with plenty of cake to go round with a little help from local bakers.
A branch of Greggs on High Street North donated 100 cakes while Cakes & Bakes on Ilford High Street also gave 100 portions of eggless cakes to the tea stall.
London City Airport also donated a raffle prize while children and parents took part in donkey rides, met a Pearly royalty, and tried their luck at the coconut shy.
