A public meeting on the London Mayor’s plan to close nearly half of Newham’s five police Station is being held in Stratford this evening.

The meeting at the Stratford Old Town Hall is to consult on Boris Johnson’s plans to slash £500million from the Metropolitan Police budget over the next three years.

Stratford and North Woolwich police stations have been proposed for closure under the plans.

Forest Gate and Plaistow police stations will be kept, alongside a station in East Ham despite the current police building in East Ham being disposed off.

Tonight’s meeting is from 6-7pm.
