Dog control orders are now in force across the borough — and anyone found in breach could be hit with an 80 fine.
The orders — which ban canines from 160 locations, including playgrounds and sports areas — were due to go live in March.
But delays putting up signs meant the process was held up. They finally came into force last Tuesday (May 3).
In addition to blanket bans, the control orders also require dogs to be kept on leads at dozens of other sites.
And police, street scene and parks staff will have the power to order people to put leads on their animals at any location across Newham.
