More than a dozen employees at Newham Council raked in more than £100,000 a year, figures reveal.
A total of 14 staff received the bumper pay packages, two of whom took home more than £150,000 according to a libertarian pressure group.
The TaxPayers’ Alliance, who compiled the figures, said chief executive Kim Bromley-Derry and Nick Bracken, director of enforcement and safety, each received more than £150,000 that financial year.
The 10 highest-paid employees received £138,304 on average, the data show.
They were among more than 400 employees handed juicy sums of £100,000 or more across London.
Islington’s assistant chief executive received the largest remuneration of the capital’s councils: £414,780.
Nationally, 500 council chiefs received £150,000 or more.
John O’Connell, the Alliance’s chief executive said: “The sheer scale of these packages raise serious questions about efficiency and priorities.”
Newham Council did not respond to a request for comment.
