East Ham MP and councillor to hold betting shop meeting

The MP for East Ham is holding a drop-in session with Cllr Sharaf Mahmood to hear residents’ views on betting shops.
Mr Timms says he is calling the meeting after hearing concerns in his surgery that anti-social behaviour from groups outside gambling premises is driving people away from the area.
The Recorder reported in February that £183m was gambled on Fixed Odds Betting Terminals (FOBTs) in the constituency’s 34 betting shops.
The MP and Cllr Mahmood will be hosting the drop-in session from 3.30pm to 4.30pm on Saturday June 1 at the Katherine Road Community Centre, 254 Katherine Road, Forest Gate, E7 8PN.
