City Hall officials on fact-finding mission in Stratford

Politicians will visit Stratford on Friday to quiz traders on the worrying rise in empty shop units.

The London Assembly’s economy committee will descend on Broadway at 11.30am as part of its inquiry into an increase in collapsed businesses in the capital.

Figures released by the Local Data Company last week show vacancy rates have continued to rise after the recession.

Evidence gathered on the visits will be debated at two public hearings at City Hall.
