Inspirational youngsters have graduated from a year of volunteering at Lister Community School.
Twelve 18 to 25 year olds agreed to return to the Plaistow school to mentor and tutor pupils and provide positive role models through the City Year London scheme.
Easily recognizable in their iconic red jackets, the volunteers offered pupils support from Monday to Thursday and took part in a leadership development programme on Fridays.
More than 90 volunteers have worked within 12 London schools in the last year through the scheme, which is now in its fourth year.
Research from the Institute for Volunteering Research has heralded the initiative for having a positive impact on disadvantaged pupils and giving volunteers skills to help them into the world of work.
