A fair for job seekers hoping to work in the health and care sector is taking place in Stratford.

Newham Council will be hosting the event, which aims to match local people to vacancies and promote a wide range of careers in Adult Social Care.

Companies including Workplace, East Thames, London Care, Allied Health Care, Vibrance and Eastway Care will be at the fair.

Cllr Clive Furness, mayoral adviser for adults and health said: “It’s fantastic to see that so many employers have signed up to attend the fair. It’s a great opportunity for Newham residents to receive professional advice and to meet real employers face-to-face.

“Many people are not aware of the wide range of career opportunities within social care and the positive impact that these professions have on the lives of others.

“So if you or anyone you might know are looking for a new job, or education or training opportunity, and need some help with choosing which path to go down, make sure you attend this fair.”

The fair has been organised with support from Newham College of Further Education, Workplace and Job Centre Plus and will take place at The Old Town Hall, Stratford on Thursday April 9 from 10 – 4pm.
