A total of 21 jobs have been created in the Royal Docks following the opening of a new Tesco Express.
Employees were hired from the surrounding area to work in the branch, which is based in the Oxygen Building.
Like other Express stores, it will be open from 6am until 11pm every day.
A spokesman said: “In this time of economic uncertainty, it is great that we are able to create jobs for our community and help get people back into work.
“We are really pleased with our new team and we are looking forward to working with them.”
