It’s the tooth: Campaign to boost Newham’s dental hygiene
PUBLISHED: 07:00 19 June 2015
Have you been smiling this past month?
Dentists are encouraging people to take more care of their teeth as part of National Smile Month.
The campaign encourages people to clean their teeth or dentures twice a day and use mouthwash as part of your routine.
A tenth of people in the UK aren’t registered with a dentist, who should be visited regularly in order to rectify any problems with your oral hygiene.
Throughout the month, stalls have been set up around the borough, with Ann Coveney offering advice to shoppers outside Asda’s Beckton branch.
She said: “At its most basic level, the campaign promotes three key messages, all of which go a long way to improve oral health in the UK.”
She explained these were brushing teeth twice a day, cutting down on sugary food and drink and visiting a dentist regularly.
