Leyton Orient caretaker boss Kevin Nugent still has a few things to’ iron out’ with the club’s Italian owners if he is to take the head coach job on a permanent basis.

The 45-year-old confirmed he had been offered the position as head coach following discussions with owner Francesco Becchetti, chief executive Alessandro Angelieri and sporting director Mauro Milanese earlier in the week, but insisted there was still issues to sort out before he would accept the post.

“It’s been well documented that I have been offered the position but there are still a few things that need to be ironed out,” said Nugent.

It is a waiting game to see whether those issues are ironed out, but Nugent’s main focus now is to prepare the O’s for Saturday’s home game against Swindon Town.

“We will have to wait and see but our main focus at the moment is making sure the boys are ready for Saturday’s game in order to get a much-needed three points,” he added.
