Archant

Plaistow commuters were bemused this morning to see a sign declaring “Bakerloo line trains are now stopping at this station.”

East Ham councillor Julianne Marriott who spotted the sign on Monday and took a photograph today, said it had made her and a lot of other commuters smile.

With her tongue firmly in her cheek, she said it was “amazing” to get “a new Tube line with such little fuss!”

“I’m not sure it would still be there if Plaistow were fully staffed with ticket offices like it used to be.”

A TfL spokesperson said: “This poster was put up in error. We will remove it as, clearly, Bakerloo line trains will not be stopping at Plaistow.”
