It’s less than a week to go before the first-ever Invictus Games gets underway at the former Olympic Park.

To mark the occasion, Tower Bridge was lit up with tournament’s increasingly familiar “I Am” insignia which also adorns the medals competitors from 13 nations will be fighting to take home over four days.

It will be the first major multi-sport event to take place at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park since London 2012. Serving and ex military personnel will compete in their national teams across nine adaptive sports.

Sir Keith Mills, chairman of the Invictus Games, said: “It was just six months back when Prince Harry launched the Invictus Games at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

“Now one week from the Opening Ceremony it’s fitting to see the emblem of the Invictus Games up in lights. We’re ready for four days of inspirational sport and I’d urge anyone who hasn’t yet got tickets to get them fast.

“Ultimately we want to shine a light on all those who serve their country and on those who are now on a journey of recovery.”

The “I AM” insignia is drawn form a poem by William Ernest Henley which reads “I am the master of my fate”, it is also engraved on each medal.
