Innovative homes of the future unveiled in East Ham

An 11 million development of 42 new “energy conscious” homes has come on the market.

The developmment in Oberon Court, in East Ham, will, it is said, need less heating, thanks to new technology, while a water recycling system means residents could save money on a variety of charges.

The development off Plashet Grove also includes solar panels which provide electricity for communal areas, reducing service charges and triple glazed windows.

It was opened by East Ham MP Stephen Timms with executives from the L&Q developers at a special ceremony last week.

Speaking at the launch of “homes of the future” the MP said he was impressed to see the sustainable features of these new homes in action.

Innovation

“During these difficult economic times, new technologies and building innovation are very important for reducing fuel bills and improving the way we use energy,” he said.
