A Canning Town animal charity is appealing for help in finding a kitten that disappeared on the way to the clinic.

Spotty, an eight-month-old white cat with tabby patches, escaped from her basket near the corner of Hermit Road and Barking Road on Thursday.

She was being brought to the Celia Hammond Animal Trust to be neutered when the door of the basket she was being carried in fell open and the kitten bolted in fear.

Staff at the trust are particularly worried as Spotty had never been outside before, while her 82-year-old owner is also anxious as the cat keeps her company all day.

The charity have searched around Canning Town and put up posters, but with no success.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen Spotty is asked to call the Celia Hammond Animal Trust on 07768 122845 or 07887 591251 between 6am and 10pm.
