A housing charity celebrated its 35th anniversary at an event at which it also said goodbye to its chief executive.

Staff at East Thames marked the charity’s 35th anniversary at its Stratford headquarters and used the occasion to look back at its history. The event also marked June Barnes’ retirement from her role as chief executive after 15 years in the post.

From 1 October 2014, Yvonne Arrowsmith, current Group Operations Director at Family Mosaic, will take over as June’s successor.

June Barnes, said: “It has been wonderful being part of East Thames Group. We have a great staff team and have achieved a lot in my time here. Our work has a positive impact on the lives of people throughout east London and Essex and plays a key role in the regeneration of the area. We will continue to work with our partners and our residents to do much more in the future.”
