A beauty queen will be helping two of east London’s most well-known hospices to launch a vintage midnight walk.

St Joseph’s Hospice in Hackney and Richard House Children’s Hospice in Beckton will be launching their joint Vintage Midnight Walk tomorrow (May 12) at the Town Hall Hotel, Patriot Square, Bethnal Green.

Hayley Mac – the current Miss Commonwealth, who will also be taking part in the 10-mile walk – will be joined by the 1940s swing dance troupe, Swing Patrol, along with an array of women dressed in vintage clothes and representatives of the two hospices at the launch.

The Vintage Midnight Walk will take place on Saturday September 10 and will follow a route through Hackney, Bethnal Green, Whitechapel, Liverpool Street, Shoreditch and Dalston and feature 1940s entertainment at rest stops along the way.

St Joseph’s and Richard House are hoping at least 500 women will take part.
