Homes cut off in Stratford after telegraph pole is replaced

PUBLISHED: 06:00 11 February 2012

Householders in Leyton Road, Stratford were left without power on one morning last week after their telegraph pole was found to be decaying.

Engineers were called to the road on January 31 to fix the rotting pole, taking residents out of service for a number of hours.

Communication was restored later in the day.

A BT spokesman said the pole would now be replaced.

She added: “This work is expected to be completed by the middle of February.”
