The London Gantry is due to open in 2020 and will be part of the chain’s Curio Collection, a selection of upscale hotels designed with a unique feel.

Located in De Coubertin Street, close to Stratford International station, it will feature 285 rooms across 18 storeys, and will also include a sky bar with views across Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and beyond.

Designed by studio ICA, the hotel will consist of a curved two-storey podium consisting of copper-coloured fins that allow the hotel’s appearance to morph throughout the day.

Inside, there will be nods to Stratford’s industrial past with artwork and objects.

Chris Fegan, the director of ICA, said: “By layering the heritage of Stratford into the design we feel that we have created something that is iconic and will be a unique experience for guests.”
