Nature lovers not afraid of the cold can join the Friends of West Ham Park to create the biggest leaf pile.

The event, which takes place on Saturday, November 15, between 12.30pm and 4pm at the park in Upton Lane is free and there is no need to book.

The afternoon will feature fun activities for the whole family and will start with a guided nature and bird walk from 12.30pm until 1.30pm.

There will also be a craft table at the playground from 2pm until 3.30pm for those who want to make their own “Autumn Star”.

Meet staff at the Superintendent’s Office, opposite the playground. Organisers are urging everyone to wear suitable clothes but warning that they could get dirty.
