One in four people will experience a mental health problem at some point in their lives.

This is the stark reality of an illness that is often little talked about and little understood despite thousands of people in Newham being affected every year.

The Recorder would like to hear from anyone who is living with a mental health condition, including depression, anxiety and stress, schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, or who has a family member experiencing these conditions.

What are the day-to-day challenges you face? What is the impact on you and your family? Is the reality of living with a mental health condition different from portrayals on television or in newspapers?
