Patients and visitors to Newham General Hospital can now surf the web during their visit, following the go live of WIFI throughout the hospital.

In December the Trust introduced the new open wireless network, offering patients and visitors internet access at affordable rates.

Shaun Jeffery, ICT Manager for the Trust, said: “This is an exciting development for the Trust. This type of service makes a real difference to the patient experience, as for many people internet access is a vital lifeline. Being able to offer internet access is another service that will help to make Newham the hospital of choice.”

The service provided by WIFI Spark costs just 3.20 for three hours, 6 for 24 hours, 11.50 for a week and 15.20 for a month. It is easy to access by simply choosing ‘WiFiSpark’ when logging onto the internet.
