Residents in Newham have better access to contraception choices, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment through a new service that been rolled out across the borough.
The services, provided by Barts Health NHS Trust, also offer women long-acting contraception options such as implants and coils at Shrewsbury Road Health Centre, Blakeberry Pharmacy, West Ham Lane Health Centre.
The service also includes a new website which offers residents sexual health advice, support and services.
It also allows people to book appointments online and order ‘test at home’ kits for sexually transmitted infections.
Vanessa Apea, Barts Health consultant in sexual health and HIV said: “We’re delighted more people are being able to choose the right options for them. We’ve worked really hard to make our clinics as good as they can be and our new website helps make our All East services even easier to access.”
