A group of former NHS workers have celebrated the 40th birthday of their retirement fellowship for ex-healthcare workers.
On Wednesday, July 26 members of the Newham branch of the NHS Retirement Fellowship had a party in Newham University Hospital to celebrate the anniversary of the social club being founded.
Members of the fellowship, which is a national organisation with local branches, brought in old photos from their time working with the NHS and met up with friends for food and a chat.
NHS Retirement Fellowship member Beverley Lawrence, 71, said: “We are all older people trying to get out and do things. We are basically a social group.”
The social club, which has around 70 members, regularly organises meetings and trips for its members and earlier this summer they went to Brighton for the day.
Previous trips have been to the Cadbury’s factory in Birmingham and Canterbury.
