NHS bosses are calling for new mums to help improve maternity services by coming forward and sharing their experiences.

They and their partners or husbands are invited to a lunch event on October 3 in East Ham. It will be run in conjunction with Newham University Hospital and the Primary Care Trust for East London and the City.

It is designed to recruit local mums to share their maternity experiences and improve the quality of local services to ensure they meet the needs of local families.

The lunch event will be held on October 3 at 11.30am onwards at the Canberra Children’s Centre in Didsbury Close, East Ham. To attend, call Maxine Farmer on (020) 7683 2727.

Organisers are also hoping, in the longer term, to hold the event again and establish a Maternity Services Liaison Committee to feedback on a more regular basis.
