HAMMERS’ starlets are backing a road safety campaign aimed at teenagers.

With clocks having gone back many teen motorists will be making their first trips home in the dark and Transport for London aims to ensure the darker nights doesn’t lead to more casualties.

Young footballers from top clubs across London, including Danny Purdy, Eoin Wearne, Robert Hall and Sebastien Lleget from West Ham United, have recorded support messages which have been posted on the club’s website.

Road collisions involving teenagers typically occur on weekdays at peak travelling times when they are travelling to and from school.

Last year 301 teenageers were killed or seriously injured on London’s roads.
