A domestic violence refuge service for women and children from South Asian communities are celebrating their 25th anniversary with a free health and well-being event.
Newham Asian Women’s Project is inviting all women and children in the community to the event featuring everything from beauty products, massage and smoothies to self defence demonstrations.
Around 200 women and children are already expected at tomorrow’s event at Plaistow Community Church, next to where the organisation is based.
The event is partly funded by Newham Council’s Adult, Community and Leisure Department. MP Lyn Brown is expected to attend.
The workshops run from 12.30pm to 3.30pm at the church at 663 Barking Road.
