WEST Ham United’s Portugese defender Manuel da Costa has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault after an alleged incident in a nightclub in Ilford on Sunday.
The 24-year-old was quizzed by police and bailed to return to the police station in early December pending further inquiries.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said allegations had been made by a woman in her early 20s.
He added that a 24-year-old man attended an east London police station by appointment, where he was arrested.
