An 11-year-old girl is believed to be the youngest person in the country to pass an A or AS level exam.
Sofia Monforte, who attends Vicarage Primary School in East Ham, bagged a D grade in AS statistics having studied with the Stratford-based Excellence in Education scheme.
The youngster, who sat the exam alongside her sister Francheska, 12, and Deborah Odushola, also 12, said: “Maths is my favourite subject and I find maths as a game because of the way it is taught.”
And it was not the first exam aspiring banker Sofia has taken years ahead of her classmates, either - she passed GCSE maths at the age of just eight. She’s also appeared on Channel 4’s Child Genius show.
The youngster, who enjoys playing tennis and the piano, added: “Before attending the EIE programme, I never thought I could pass any of these exams or learn through playing games.”
