Literary fans enjoyed a Roald Dahl-themed tea party on Saturday.

The Big Friendly Giant tea party was held at Beckton Globe library, Kingsford Road, Beckton, to celebrate the world of Roald Dahl and introduce a new generation of youngsters to his books.

The event was held as part of the Big Friendly Read, a summer scheme designed to encourage children to read during the school holidays.

The library will be hosting a variety of events themed around the author’s work this month, including a golden ticket hunt at the library on Wednesday.
