A public meeting will take place tonight to discuss the future of Winsor Park Community Centre.
Residents will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from East Thames Group, which owns the centre on the Winsor Park estate, to discuss the future of the building.
Currently, half of the centre remains open, providing training and employment services, but the neighbouring building, a former youth centre, was closed in 2013.
This January, a petition was launched by Beckton community leader Syad Ahmed to try and reopen the former community centre, which was closed 18 months ago.
As of March, the petition had gathered over 200 signatures.
East Thames Group is looking to seek planning permission to build seven new affordable homes on the site of the former community centre.
The meeting will take place at 6.30pm at the Winsor Park Community Centre at 18-20 Warwall in Beckton.
