A fundraiser set up for a 20-year-old man who died following a stabbing in a Stratford park has surpassed its intended target.

Friends of Bradley Quaresma, affectionately known as Puto Bre, raised money online to help his family pay for the funeral costs.

With an intended target of £8,000 friends, relatives and well wishers donated a total of £8,853 in less than a week after Bradley’s death.

Dulcineia Co, who set up the Just Giving page for Bradley, said it was amazing that so many people had donated money for Bradley’s family.

Carine Cardoso, speaking a few days after the fundraiser went online, said: “It’s been absolutely amazing it just shows how important Bradley was to everybody.

“The idea came from all his friends - I never thought it would get to the point it did.”

The money will now be sent to Bradley’s family so they can prepare for his funeral.

Mario Albino Te, 20, of no fixed address has been charged with Bradley’s murder.
