Orient boss Russell Slade felt his side deserved more following a battling performance against promotion-chasiong Southampton.

The O’s had two goals disallowed in the first half for tight offside decisions and dominated the second half, with skipper Stephen Dawson hitting the woodwork.

But goals from Rickie Lambert and Lee Barnard settled the game in front of almost 8.000 fans.

“It was one of those rare occasions where the best team lost. The players couldn’t have given me any more,” said Slade.

Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade makes just one change to the side that beat Plymouth Argyle 2-0 on Tuesday night, as Jonathan Tehoue comes in the injured Alex Revell, for While Southampton boss Nigel Adkins makes three changes to the side that beat Charlton Athletic in midweek.

Both sides are desperate for a win, as Orient go into the game just three points off the play-off places, while Southampton are currently third in the table, but are just two points off an automatic promotion slot and have two games in hand over Huddersfield.

The Saints are in good form at the moment and are unbeaten in their last seven matches, winning six of them.
