A fire in a ground-floor shop with flats above it resulted in 21 firefighters and officers being called out to the scene.

Crews from Plaistow, Leyton, Leytonstone and Poplar were called to the fire in Paul Street, Stratford, at 4.17pm yesterday.

Its cause is not known at this stage. More to come.
