THE squeeze is being eased for Newham users of the London Overground rail service.

An extra carriage has been added to trains on the Stratford to Richmond route.

And in the New Year four two-carriage diesel trains an hour will run on weekdays and two per hour on Sundays on the Barking-Gospel Oak line, which is widely used by Newham travellers with its station connections to Manor Park and Forest Gate.

Longer trains giving more passenger capacity have been made possible as part of London Mayor Boris Johnson’s £326 million works to extend platforms across the Overground network.
