Former World Champion runner Iwan Thomas MBE switched his spikes for a bike on behalf of a charity encouraging young people into sport.
The Olympic 400m relay silver-medallist gave his all to put in an impressive 16.798 second lap at the Lee Valley Velodrome, cycling venue for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
It was the latest in a series of challenges with the 40-year-old organised by charity Spogo, which has compiled a directory of sporting activities and facilities online in a bid to help people become healthier through exercise.
Speaking exclusively to Parklife before going on to tackle the mile-long road circuit, Iwan said: “Today is really to highlight that the Olympic Park is open for people to use .
“It’s amazing to come on the track and say ‘I’m on the same track that Sir Chris Hoy was cycling on”. That’s what Spogog do, just promote fitness and wellbeing.”
