Olympic medallist Colin Jackson opened a work skills centre close to where this year’s Games are set to unfold.
The former world and European champion 110m hurdler and current broadcaster cut the ribbon at the Pitman Training Centre in the Broadway.
He spoke about the importance of training, having a close support network, and maintaining the determination and motivation to achieve.
To coincide with the opening, Pitman claimed there has been an increase in people studying for accounts and bookkeeping courses when compared to last year.
They also reported an upsurge in people carrying out specialist work related training including medical and legal work.
