A former assistant area dean of Newham has been appointed as canon of Chelmsford Cathedral.
The Revd Pat Mossop was nominated by the Bishop of Barking, after his role as team rector at the Divine Compassion parish, Plaistow and North Canning Town.
Bishop of Barking the Rt Revd David Hawkins praised Revd Mossop’s role in Newham, and was confident he would use his skills to good effect for his new congregation in Essex.
“He has used the wise judgement he accrued as a Lawyer in re-establishing a vibrant Team Ministry in North Canning Town”, said Revd Hawkins.
“With his depth of knowledge of church life in Newham Pat has made a valuable contribution to the Deanery as Assistant Dean.”
