Forest Gate Community School has developed an app to communicate with parents.

Already a keen user of social media such as Twitter and Facebook, the school in Forest Lane now has a free app for smartphone users to keep parents, pupils, and the community up to date on their iPhone or Android device.

Head teacher Simon Elliott said: “In this age of mobile technology and social media, the ‘FGCS’ app is another way of keeping in touch with parents and the wider community.

“We are starting to tell parents about the app during parents’ events, through the newsletter, social media, and the school’s website, and feedback that we have received so far has been positive.”
