Four pupils from Forest Gate Community School ran the last three miles of the London Marathon as part of the Newham borough team.

Kenny Lither, Miguel Fernadez, Samba Tanba, Andre Lither and Najmul Islam all took part in Sunday’s event.

Headteacher Simon Elliott said: “We are very proud of our pupils for taking part.

“Health and fitness is very important at Forest Gate Community and these youngsters are a good example to other pupils.
