Forest Gate husband at Old Bailey, accused of wife’s murder

A husband accused of recruiting a hitman to stab his wife to death at her home appeared at the Old Bailey yesterday.

Mohammad Ali, 64, is said to have enlisted Frederick Best, 46, to kill 43 year-old Amina Bibi at a block of flats in Forest Gate.

The mother-of-two was found dead by her 11 year-old son in the hallway of the family flat in George Carver House, Station Road, at around 8.50am on September 13.

A postmortem gave the cause of death as multiple stab wounds.

Mr Ali, also known as Mahendra Patel, and Best are both charged with her murder.

They are next due to appear at the Old Bailey for a plea and case management hearing on December 10.

Ali, of George Carver House, Station Road, and Best, of Kebbell Terrace, both in Forest Gate, were remanded in custody.
